ok, i got my oem fog relay switches and i want to wire them to my PIAA's to give the interior a stock look. However, the OEM switches dont have any wires coming out of the back, just a three prong clip attachment(i assume the oem off road lights come with the other connector). Is there any way to adapt the PIAA relay switch like this?
Sorry, I am electically illeterate. |

i wonder what the gm part number is for the male connector end of the switch? Any one know where i could find this out?

You will have to cut the PIAA harness. Cut the switch off the end and you will see three wires. Take your new switch to Auto Zone and ask someone for the female end to that switch. Take your crimpers to the wires and your done. You will have a red, white and black wire from the PIAA harness. You will than have to find out what goes to your new switch.
Buy an add-a-fuse from AutoZone and use that for the switch power. And if all this sound very confusing, take it to someone that knows how to wire this stuff. You don't want to burn your truck to the ground. ![]() |

Note the add on fuses are for 10 amps if load is more you will nead a relay or tap in to battery for power using 30 amp fuse.

Timgco,
I have gone to every auto parts store in the area with no luck. Napa,Auto Zone, Advanced Auto parts, a Chevy dealership, and even a radioshack. They all ack like they have never heard of a product to connect this switch. The Chevy guy said to go to the hummer dealership that i purchased from but they are far away. Can anyone find a part number or suggest a solution such as soldering the wires from the relay to the switch? I mean the 3 prongs represent a positive a negative and a ground right? |

Im not sure on the factory switch.Generally there would be 1 ground ,1 positive for accy, 1 positive for the light on switch(the switch lights up right), By the way negitive is the same as ground.

yes the switch does light up only when the light is depressed. The chevy guy said that there was not a part no. for the female end just a part number for the offroad kit. Does that make sense? I mean if the switch has a part number so should the wiring harness. Anyone have access to a GM parts database that can help me out?
thanks for any help |
anyone???? I really dont want to feel like i wasted 45 bucks on the oem switches. I purchased these off of autowebaccessories at a 3 week back order so i can only imagine the kind of service they will give me when i call and try to find what i need now.
