Speaking of Slavery: Sharpton discovers...

NEW YORK ? Genealogists have found that civil rights activist REV. AL SHARPTON is a descendent of a slave owned by relatives of the late Sen. STROM THURMOND, a newspaper reported Sunday.

They said professional genealogists, working at the newspaper's behest, recently uncovered the ancestral ties between one of the nation's best-known black leaders and a man who was once a prominent defender of segregation.

"I have always wondered what was the background of my family," the newspaper quoted Sharpton as saying. "But nothing ? nothing ? could prepare me for this."

Sharpton's office said Sunday morning that he would not comment until a news conference planned for later in the day.
Who gives a sh*t? The narcissism & ego of that crooked POS is amazing.

Am I the only one that wishes Strom were still around to hear what he would have to say about this?

As far as Sharpton needing a press conference about this... Whatever. I think a simple public statement would do just fine, but in his usual dramatic way a press conference is much better way to make a big spectecal of all of this. (Insert jack off smiley here)

Someone should look into Al Gore's family history for slave ownership.
Quote:

Albert Gore, Sr was one of only three Democratic senators from the 11 former Confederate states who did not sign the 1956 Southern Manifesto opposing integration, the other two being Senate Majority Leader Lyndon B. Johnson (who was not asked to sign) and Gore's fellow Tennesseean Estes Kefauver, who refused to sign.
