leave it for a day..

Leave it for a day and it won't start. Every time its a dead batt. This is getting to be a PITA.
Who knows where I can get the best deal on a yellow top?

Sounds like a parasitic drain. If you have any aftermarket accessories. check and make sure that they are turning off with the key and not staying on and draining power. If possible try unplugging any aftermarket accessories and leave the truck sitting for a day. If problem is still there take to the dealer and have them check for a parasitic drain. Problem could still happen with a yellowtop but would just take longer. I am running a 50 Watt mobile amatuer radio rig in mine pulling approx. 10 Amps. no problems with mine. even after sitting for a week.

Check to make sure your seat switches are staying on. our was. Also a possible amp issue on the radio? ..just thinking out loud.

What electronic aftermarket stuff do you have? Lights? Stereo? AV? remote start? alarm?

Geeez, knock on wood, I haven't had that problem. Other things ..lol .. YES, but not that one. Like KB7TCV says, it sounds like an aftermarket item causing a drain. Good luck and let us know if you figureout the problem.

I think the seat switches automatically turn off when the engine is off. But, they are back on when you start up again. The car washer accidently turned on the passenger seat warmer. I didn't know until two days later when I leaned over on the seat and felt the warmth. So, it was on while I was driving, but off when I had the engine was off.

I am the aftermarket whore!

But everything I have is off the ignition switch. I am going to go check the Amp. I leave my radar detector on. But damn that shouldn't drain it.
I will let ya know...

Thanks everyone! :beerchug:

I just dropped a yellow top in 2 days ago, I've left my radar detector plugged in for a few hours and it killed the stock battery. I've got a avic, radar detector, xeon lights, power inverter, winch, ect.... and the stock battery doesn't cut it. It became a heavy paper weight and it is 90 miles to the dealership so I just got the yellow top and will get a new battery when I happen to be in St. Petersburg.

I did the same, I added the Yellow top last night. Battery was dead now after 6 hours of sitting. Still going to do a test and see what is draining if anything.

Re: leave it for a day..

I've had a radar detector that would drain the battery overnight before. All I would do is unplug it at night. It still might need a battery, but if its anything aftermarket that is causing the draw, warranty shouldn't cover it and probably won't.
