Roof Rack Crossbows

Anyone know what material these are made of? I'm thinking about painting my silver ones with Duplicolor bedliner. Need to determine the best way to prep the metal before applying paint.

Aluminum....you can Powder coat, anodize, or Line-X them.

What would I have to do to prep them for applying bedliner? Should I just sand them down?

Not sure, I deal in the powder coat and anodize coatings. KenP had his cross bars LineX-ed I believe. As far as the bedliner I would look at the can or call the manufacturer and ask about what needs to be done for prep. For powder coating we bead blast and for ano we etch FWIW.

For the price of PC or LineX you could probably just buy factory black take offs. I'm sure there are others like me with a set sitting in the garage not being used
