Mud Terrain Tires
 

Hello all,

got another question for the masses, i concidering getting Mud Terrain tires for the yellow(soon to be collectors item) H3, any one have/had experience
with Muds? do the ride decent, how fast they Wear, they look mean in my opinion, im a weekend wheeler who prefers dirt,mud and mounds when wheelin who also drives 40 or so miles a day with work, not sure how they would do in snow:confused: so if any on has pics or advice please let me know.....thanks in advance....

bfg or nitto is my opnion. I don't like the mud tires in the sand here, just digs you in and your done.

BFG work great, a lot of people here have the toyos. The toyos are siped which will help with traction in the rain.

BFG's are a nice mud terrain with decent highway manners also, but the Toyo Open Country MT's are the best of the best imo. They are aggressive looking, balance nicely, ride good on the highway with minimal noise, and definitely do the trick offroad too. The Nitto's are aggressive looking too, but they are VERY noisy on the road and don't put up the mileage on the highway that either the BFG's or the Toyo's will. Just my .02

I have had good luck with BFG MT is in the past

BFG MTs don't have siping so they slip a little in the rain on wet pavement and concrete.

I may try Toyos when I'm due for new tires since they are siped

The Toyo's are great! I have the 35's and the gas mileage will decrease no question about it (definitely not a deal breaker though).

I like the BF Goodrich tires also, and have had good luck with them in the past. In town I had more road noise with the Mud T/A's than with the Toyo's though. The Toyo's are no louder than the stock 33's. Both tires do well in the mud.

I haven't ever regretted the decision to purchase the Toyo's. Many people I've met have made positive comments about the tires.

Edit:

I also snowboard quite a bit, I have found that the Toyo's do much better in snow and ice as well as rain, than the Mud T/A's did.

I have had the Toyo Open Country M/T's in the 285's and now got the 315's.

They have been great, the 285's handled great in the snow here in Montana. Great highway manners and great for offroading in Moab :beerchug:

My commute is almost all freeway (with little traffic) I try to drive at or just above the speed limit. When I do that, I get about 14 mpg.

Gas mileage drops when I'm towing or whenever I put the pedal down (especially when both). Climbing hills or off roading also drops the mileage a lot, it doesn't help that I live on a steep hill.

My last vehicle had the LS1 (with upgrades) and I drove it hard, I got better mileage, I liked that car, but I enjoy the H3 more. I just wish the LS1 fit in the H3.

the BFG's or Toyos , you cant go wrong :clapping: the Toyos are amazingly quiet . i still cant believe it and have about 15k on them now , still love em .

I have Toyo MTs and love them 15k miles on them and they still have plenty of tread.
