The Irony....

We visited the Art Institute of Chicago this past weekend to view the "Cezzane to Picasso" exhibit. It was fantastic, however...

In order to get into the Museum we had to pass through a guantlet of anti-war/anti-Bush (anti-Liberty/Freedom) protesters. Hey, Freedom of Speech and such, so no big deal. We figured "let these wack jobs make asses of themselves".

As we ascended the steps I wanted a smoke before entering the museum, so we stepped to the side and I lit up. While standing up there looking down at the wackos and hearing the supporters driving by honking their horns, we realized what's standing tall in the background, the Sears Tower, like a sentinel keeping watch over the city.

I can't help but wonder what these Schumer-Sheehan wannabe's would be doing if that building had come down.

What would those anti-American fools be doing right now had our soldiers and our country not fought for the Freedoms we now have?

Do those Washington Compost readers have any idea how they turn off so many Americans to their cause due to their tactics? Due to there utter disregard for Freedom and all it encompasses and all it's cost?

I wonder if these libnuts realize that what they're protesting is what gave them Liberty.

Do these Durbers understand the consequenses of NOT following through on what we, as a country, say we're going to do?

They don't realize it's not Machivellian, nor is it Orwellian, it's us simply trying to survive and protect our collective LIVES, FREEDOMs, and LIBERTY. We must do this at all costs.

We, as a Nation and as a People, must stand beside each other in support of our Troops, and our President, otherwise we give comfort to the enemies of Freedom; we give comfort to the enemies of Liberty.

This must not happen. We, as a civilized culture, doing our civic duty, whether-or-not you agree with the tactics, must support our Troops and our President. Do your protesting at the polls.

Don't protest in the most ironic ways possible, in one of the most implausible places possible.

It was an odd feeling.

I have seen the bumper stickers, tv and stuff, but when I was right in the middle of such hate for the President (a President that has been through so much and carried this country through so many tragedies) my heart started pounding. Not a yellow ribbon in sight. I had harsh words on the tip of my tongue praying that one of those people would say something to me. I just wanted to shake them, take them by the shoulders and shake some sense into them.

I couldn't even stay out there long, I had the same expression the airport shuttle passengers did when I asked Ken loudly about his contagious rash.:giggling: :p :giggling:

If I had terminal cancer, I'd load up and take the whole lot of them with me.

Only kidding--maybe.

Sadly they will never get it... even at our countrys worst times they will point and belly ache at whatever they can rather than getting in the game and helping out.

In all my "thinking" about why they are they way they are, I cam to "realize" that some people are wired differently and will never be thankful for what they have been given. Then I realized they already had a name for them - hell they even have a party - they are called democrats..
