Sound from right door lock when H3 goes from P to D ...
 

When I put the H3 into Drive from Park, there is a little vacuum/whine sound that lasts about 3 seconds coming from the right passenger door lock area. It just started about 3 weeks ago. When I took the H3 into the dealer for some other issues last week, the tech typed in something to the effect, "Sound common to A/C compressor." What?! It's not anywheres near the front dash or a/c vents. Has anyone heard this sound in their H3? It definitely comes from the passenger door lock. Thanks.

Yeah, mine does this,too....but, I have just been ignoring it 'cause it doesn't sound serious....maybe just the locks moving??? Anyway, like I said...I just ignore it. :D

Mine always sounds like it's coming from the very back..not sure though.

I had a sound before on my pass lock, donno if its the same. The problem with mine was that the little tongue that goes in and out by the door latch or its mechanism would rub when it moves (lock, unlock) and make a high pitched rushing sound, kinda like pressured air or vacume or something like that. Turns ou it was because of the weather. Lasted for couple of weeks and went away by iself.

donno if yours is the same, but as you said it sure isnt the a/c compressor if its comming from the door.

Yep, mine sounds like your description. We basically have the same weather here year round (temperate), so mine isn't weather related. I won't worry about it unless it sounds worse as time goes by. Thanks!
