I would say your chances are pretty good.

If you had a front plate it would have taken most of the damage. What happened list pics.

Well, since you use this truck what it was meant for, it will happen again.

I would go to the hardware store or Home Depot and buy some Hammercoat paint. It comes in a spray can and has some texture to it (perfect for covering those scratches). Otherwise I think BK08 is the paint code for the factory color. It won't hide the scratches, but it will keep it from rusting up on you. I used the BK08 on my stock H2 bumper a few years back it hid the scratched very little but kept it covered.

or next month you can buy the SMA winch bumper.

The winch bumper would be sweet, not sure how soon that would happen though. I am mainly looking for something to cover the scraches so it doesn't rust on me, actually I think it looks kind of cool. But the snow and salt here will probably chew it up. I got the "scars" from hummer happenings in October and I am pretty sure it happened here

Probably pretty good on getting some surface rust to show. But is this the lower valance up front? Just tape off the other bumper portion, sand it down some, and rattle can it non-gloss black. If you used your H3 for a little excursion, then this will probably happen again and again. If you use H3, then why worry about this? What about under the frame, kick panel skids, rear axle, gas tank skid, etc.?
