Cast iron would only be part of the solution.

No tukr, it is "housing flex" that causes the teeth to be stripped from the ring gear.

However, it is a 7.25 inch ring gear. Waaaay to small for a 5K lb + 4x4.

I would not put a locker in a 7.25 inch front diff. Needs to be at least 8.0 and even then you have to be really careful.

I'm not sure a front locker is even needed. I've never, to this point been in a situation where someone said, "Hey Beebs, if you had a front locker, you could have stomped that obstacle".

Eight inches or more would be ok (differential you perverts), and yes, as NEO stated, be patient....

I agree with Bebe, how often is a front locker really needed? However, if you do need it, it would be nice to have.:jump:

A front locker would be useful in some situations. We are waiting patiently:)

I would rather have control over the front diff rather than having traction control/abs kick in.

I have had ARB's front and rear in a YJ and my Rubicon has lockers front and rear. No complaints.
