Here in Miami the only climbing we have are speed bumps & curbs. I do both (more speed bumps then curbs thank G-D)
My question is I see all your GREAT PHOTOS of rock climbing etc and wonder how well your alignments hold up? After each hard outing are you doing alignments or is the H-3 that ruggedly built that you only do one when you get new tires or at intervals of 50000 miles or so? I haven't seen this addressed before. Thanks, RYD |
Depends on how fast you take the bumps. Here in Mi, not many speed bumps but pot holes do the same damage to your suspension that a speed bump does. All the rock climbing i've done, and i'm sure others have similar opinions, are at controled speeds. If you hit a bump, or in my case, a hole, at 40,50,80mph

I have yet to need an alignment on the H3 after taking numerous ones off road with a variety of driver expierence. We have done both "rock" mountaing and wooded log filled trails, all of them seem to fair very well.

I hit speed bumps like they are bonus points in a game. And I take curbs at about 10-15 mph and she still drives straight. Heck I even have low profile tires! whooohooo (bump) whoohooooo (bump) whooohoooo (honda) whooohoooo (bump)......

So far I have about 500 trail miles on mine and the only alignment issue I had was the the very first time I took it offroad. I knocked my steering wheel alignment off the dealer aligned it again and torqued all the bolts again and no problems since. I am having some bigger tie rod adjusted fabbed because I feel it is the weakest link in the front steering.

Thanks people.
From your answers I can assume my speed bumps (at low speed) and the occasional curb jumping to get past traffic hogging the left lane is no problem... RYD |

Definitly man, after the snow run here in MI I had to get my alignment rechecked but that was due to the fact that I recklessly went up this hill at full throttle and hit some air. |

Why get an alignment in MI, just hit the pothole on the opposite angle on the way home from work, and it is back to normal. ![]() I have lived in many states, and MI, no doubt, has the nastiest roads in the USA. |
Yea my H3 gets used mostly as a UAV (urban assault vehicle) with daily driving over potholes and some trashed roads. So far tracking true at 15K miles and little tire wear. I like the H3's chassis durability for daily use compared to the other fancy foreign cars in the garage.
