Tropical Storm Barry
The second named storm is upon us. Barry isn't expected to develop into a hurricane, but it should help out with Florida's drought conditions.
But don't forget about this: The National Weather Service said it expects 13 to 17 tropical storms, with seven to 10 becoming hurricanes and three to five in the strong category. Coastal folks should get supplies, including emergency supplies, together for the season. |

Yes, and last year was "SUPPOSE TO BE" one of the worst seasons as well. I saw nothing. However I am prepared. I even took out enough through homeowners insurance to cover the Hummer.....and the DD's:beerchug:

Re: Tropical Storm Barry
If you lived in florida youd realize that unless its a Cat4 for 5 we dont give a crap, and just go on about our daily activities, tell you the truth no one i knew until tonight knew that we had a tropical storm over us. Besides that i was on the way down to a concert with 2 of my friends in an H2 limo and we heard it on the radio and we were joking saying "were in florida in an Hummer in a tropical storm, but its a limo with cheetah spotted leather"

Re: Tropical Storm Barry
I decided to take the boat out anyways. Not the best time to learn how to launch a boat but fun nonetheless. I stayed close to shore as I didn't want to swim far if it broke down... found out later that was a manatee zone, luckily I had no registration on it so no one could report me. It was really choppy... :D Can't wait for my lift to get fixed at my dock so no more of that launching nonsense.

Launching the boat can be learned easily. For me, it's remembering to put the drain plug back on before I launch.:jump: I remember being half way across the lake when I found that it was getting hard to plane the boat and I was losing speed. I looked back and my back end was almost underwater.:giggling: I killed the engine, grabbed the drain plug and dove into the water to put it back in. The bilge pump handled the rest after 10 minutes or so. I've dove into the water with the drain plug.........Twice.:jump: |
