I hate XM

I just wrote this to XM about trying to renew my XM:

I have just lost 2 hours of my life I will never get back because I stupidly re-newed my XM account. I spent over 45 minutes on hold waiting to talk to a person. Once I got in touch of an account person she tried to tell me I owed 2 months of fees for services. I explained my ex wife had bought me the subscription along with one for her and it was a one year subsription, and when it expired, how would I owe money. She tried to tell me I had to pay the outstanding debt before I could renew both accounts. I tried to explain that I needed the accounts seperated and I would like to create a new account with just my radio on. She insisted I needed to pay both and only when I told her I would be changing to Sirius did she say she could change the account. I tried then to utilize an discount code I had to activate my account. She told me the code was not allowed to be used by a current subscirber and woud not let me apply it to my account. Once I started to just complete my new account hoping to be able to apply the discount later I realized her grasp of english was less than perfect. Total time to renew my account 2 HOURS and 10 MINUTES. I find this totally unacceptable and horrible customer service. I hope to find that I can have my discount code retro activily applied to my account. Please, I like the XM radio and realize that you were bought by sirius but please please please improve your service before you drive everyone away.

I would like to just once talk to Dell or XM service with out trying to learn Indian

for 95.00 you can get the converter for xm to sirius for your Hummer so no extra equipemnt up front is needed. XM sucks and I have had nothing but good times with Sirius. I put the s50 in my truck on a side mount and it acts as a mp3 player and can record on the fly or my Howard Stern. Check it out after you dump them cause the merger may not happen.

XM customer service does suck, but unless Sirius has changed their assistance center from what they had a few years ago, they probably use the same group of Indians.
Wait a few months, they will be one in the same...probably.

I have Sirius in both my other vehicles. The wife and I LOVE sirius and have been less then impressed with XM.

So, how does this coverter work? Where do you install it? Does it work with the radio interface in the truck, or do you then need to add a Sirius radio to the end of the coverter?

I have a "PIE" adapter in my Corvette. The way that one works is that it ties into the CD Changer cable and coverts the plug to RCA inputs. Then, I just split the Sirius radio output to RCA and I am in business.

I love XM. Couldn't live without it. I had Sirius, I liked it too. It was better than XM when I first switched over when we traded the Mini S for the Hummer but I guess enough people complained and the programming on XM has greatly improved to the point that there's no reason to choose one over the other.

Because of the folks on this forum, customer service let me have a year on both our vehicles at the discounts discussed below.

XM ROCKS!

Either way, I could never go back to AM/FM. That wouldn't be bad if you didn't mind a yappy idiot dj talking over the best front or end of a song, endless frickin' commercials, listening to their dumbassed call sign every thirty seconds in their attempt to brand it into your brain.... You get what you pay for.

I like XM only because of Opie and Anthony. Unfortunately their current suspension prohibits that part of XM I like. I am not a Howard Stern fan but have nothing against him, just like O&A better. Wonder if I can get a refund for one month of service since 202 is boring without them.

Re: I hate XM

The XM that came with my H3 has been my first experience with satelite radio. I really have liked it, but I have several spots along my commute where I lose the signal for anywhere from a second or two to 6-7 seconds. I really am into my music and sing and air drum (I'm sure I get more than a few laughs from other drivers) and it is pretty damn annoying when the signal cuts out. Is there any kind of signal booster out there?

I don't really listen to radio...FM...AM...XM...because I don't care much about the music they play.:beerchug:
