Gotta admit, I was a little skeptical about how much better the ride would be. I knew there would be some improvement, but I didn't expect it to be as noticeable as it is.

The truck rides soooooo much better. :perfect10s: I even took a passenger who had ridden with me this morning before putting them on, and he could tell a big difference. The whole front ends feels tighter, it handles better, less body roll in turns, less nosedive on hard braking. Money well spent. :D

Excellent!! Thanks for the pics, they really show the difference between stock and the cognito.

Wow, interesting. And Sewie your rig is running 35's with the torsion bars turned as the only other suspension mods?

Question for you. Do the new shocks level out the front end or just make a better ride? thanks in advance..

No, you still need to crank the t-bars (or use re-indexed keys).

Sewie

Is that picture showing the Cognito shock fully extended?

What is the compressed length?

Thanks

Re: Cognito shocks are on

I've been running these shocks since the first of the year and have
had no problems out of them whatsoever (7000+ miles).
Overall ride quality was improved, as well as lateral stability.....
They work very nicely on washboards and really take the
jarring out of medium to severe holes and bumps.

For me, they turned out to be a good investment.

BTW: The truck is leveled via a TB crank, running 17X9 wheels and 12.50X33 Swampers.

$95/ea. I got them from TrailDuty, but TeakaToys also has them, or you can order directly from Cognito.

What's it worth to ya? :fdance:

I'll try, but if they're not easier than the Bilsteins, then you're SOL. ;)

Not sure which pic you're referring to.....but no. ;)

I didn't take any measurements.

Re: Cognito shocks are on

Sewie, what was your total ride height after the TB crank and before adding the the cognito's? After I removed the Truxxx kit I just set the ride height to 23" and was going to get an alignment with the new wheels. I don't really like the front stock shocks.

I know the level height would be 24.25" - the same as back - but I am not wanting to level the front end to put the cognito's on.

Re: Cognito shocks are on

I wonder how they'd do on a stock (uncranked) front end. (Is that what you want to do, joedirt)?
