got my $10 Stallion prerunner brush gaurd on tonite

Pix to follow tomorrow, it started raining after I finished up. I stumbled across this guard on eBay with 30 min left on the auction. I bid and got it for $10 + $80 shipping. It has some scratches that I will sand and paint out before I take the pix. I wish I had all black and no chrome on my H3, but with white, would it look funky with no chrome?

I'm more in the no-bling camp myself..

Here's the guard:

the website shows an area where you can mount lighting, would that hold up as a winch mount also?

I don't think the mounting surface is strong enough for a winch, but with a plate, it looks doable.. or maybe underneath?

I love the mad maxx look. Billy bad ass. :excited: The only I think I would do is try to heat and bend the outsides in a bit, to conform a little better to the shape of the stock bumper, but otherwise, I like it. On question though. Why do you mount it then paint it? kind of risky I think. :beerchug:

Re: got my $10 Stallion prerunner brush gaurd on tonite

Thanks, not risky at all. The plastic was very adequate for protecting the front and if there were any over spray, Goof Off would have worked without damaging paint/chrome. I have painted dirt bike engines in the frame for years this way. I would use alum foil for the tight spots and then clean any over spray.

The reason I wouldn't bend it in is there are a lot of deer where I run and I need as much energy dissipation space as I can get. I would rather trash a $10 guard than my H3..One of my coworkers has hit 2 deer in his F250 and another tagged a 100 lb hog, all leading to pretty expensive damage..

Yeah, it kinda does.. I want to do black steel RockKrawler bead lock style wheels on 33's. I looked at the Adv H3 and to me the 33's look just right + no performance/weight penalty. That and black rocker panel sliders and I should be pretty good to go...

Did you do a search for the Line-x? There is a handful of people that line-x the front grill and fenders, bumpers, etc. Looks awesome IMO. I dig the rockcrawlers as well. Kepp it up. :beerchug:

Was that before or after that kid shot it? Oh wait, that one was a 1000 lbs ;) Seriously tho, you might catch some air if you hit anything with that angle.

Let’s see some pics of it.

I'd also recommend wrapping a big ass recovery rope or snatch strap around it.

oh, I'm sure it will be trashed, but if it saves the front end and sacrifices itself, I can live with that...

BTW, what do ya'll think of these rims to go along with the Mad Max look:
