Torsion adjusting - ?question?
 

I adjusted the torsion bars to level the height - I seem to have lost the smooth ride...she's a little bouncy up front. Is there a fix for this? new shocks maybe?
I have 75,000 miles......I'm about to put my new 37s on:excited:

Put a good lift kit on it. Messing with the torsion bars can (and will) tear up other suspension pieces. It also messes up the ride, as you've experienced.

You can add a inch or so without much impact, but I suspect you went for more.

If you are going to run 37's a lift will look better anyway.

I am currently buttering up the wife for a 6" lift and 37s (38s?). So far the exchange rate has been too high. (Mother inlaw visiting for 2 weeks - ICK!) I'm waiting for a more resonable trade (jewelry, spa visit, anything but the mother in-law)....

Contact Cognito Motorsports for their shock extensions or extended length shocks. The shocks are the better choice

no matter what you do you will need a caster/camber adjustment now . why dont you get a tape measure and adjust them down a little and check both sides to make sure they are even ,and if your ride gets smooth again to where you like it you are back to square one (after alignment). :twak: if you want the lift be prepaired to go for some big bucks to do it right (over$3600.00)

The Cognito leveling kit with their control arms for the 2500HD also fits the H2, provides a ride equal to the stock ride and levels the H2

Thanks - but not ready to go with a lift as of yet. I like the look with the stock height and 37s. I am leaning towards the Cognito leveling kit.

I had it all aligned perfectly when the adjustment was made. I am going to try the cognito leveling kit, sound as if that will help my problem.

I have had nothing but good experiences with the Cognito products. However, not used the leveling kit personally - bt I would not hesitate to get it. I am going to try 37s with my cranked Torsion Bar setup and see how it goes. If it does not go well, I will add the kit myself.

Since you already have the Tbs cranked AND THE ALIGNMENT, why not try just their extended shocks first. If you are happy with just those then you are set. If not, you can use the shocks with their leveling kit!

I cranked my wife's TBs on her H3 and added the H3 Cognito shocks. Not only did it make it ride as good as stock - but it rides even better since I have more travel from getting rid of the restrictive OEM shocks.

Oh yeah no doubt - The 37s will be on by end of week. I was going to toss them on with out the kit first. Good call on thowing on just the shocks first. They will be the move....Thanks for the link. I will repost with pics and out come soon enough.

having put on the 37s and pulled on the torsion bars to level this bitch...she's ridden rough and changed lanes whenever.....

I have since added the bilstein extended shocks up front and also a single fabtech steering stabilizer.

:jump: she is now a tamed sweetheart - doing exactly as I want her and also would say my stock ride is back -COMPLETELY - now she looks sweet and rides sweeter! .:jump:

HG, have you done the Cognito Pitman & Idler arm kit yet? Makes big difference!!!!!!!!!!!!

good looking out - tomp - i actually did them about2 months before the tires....the rig started swaying off....lots of play. The idle and ppitman were shot......i replaced them and added the cognito kit.....sweet mod!!!!!

the steering stabilizer really makes the steering smooth and tight also.

Only 1 other thing you need to do there my friend. Extend your bump stops down to where they touch the lower control arm +1/4" like the were before you cranked your TBs. There should be enough space on top of the stud to add in a spacer there.

I think I have an idea of what where talking about - is this to prevent bottoming out?
