Interesting, but confusing. He says he was in Rochester MI; however, Rochester MI is a small town (about 2 miles square), and from just moving to Rochester Hills MI (the city that surrounds Rochester), I'll be damned if I can see any place to go off road.

The brakes though are mushy and take a bit of getting used to.

Something must of been wrong with the brakes on his tester. Mine are the tightest set I have seen in a long time.

I agree. I had some nut in a mini-van pull right out in front of me the other day, the H3's brakes gripped "like nothing else." They rock!

Maybe the guy was used to european brake pads, that do grip a little better, but output more brake dust.

This is true, but they can still use asbestos in their brake pads. As can most countries except the US.

Just trying to reason why, the author said the brakes were mushy

I am not quite sure if the author was pro-H3 or anti-H3 as the article doesn't read that well.

For serious off-roading, take it to Colorado !
