H3 = worktruck & camper

My H3 transports me and my tools to rigsites all over TX. Often I spend days in my vehicle while on standby. All my coworkers thought I lost my mind when I traded my Megacab for the H3. But, as the pix show, I have more room for rest than I did in the Ram or any of the other's trucks. BTW, I'm 6'2" and I can stretch the whole way out. The pillows/pads take care of the hump in the middle. Here's the proof:

Thanks! Works real well, here are some more pix of my Walmart seatcovers that keep the oilfield mess off the seats:

So basically you get paid to camp and off road through oil fields? Sounds like a dream job for most of us. Nice rig and set up! :beerchug:

After 23 of the tech world/corporate BS, it is a dream job! On top of that, they pay my car payment and gas! :D Waiting for a nice muddy ranch road to see what the H3 can do. I have already revisited some rigs in the H3 where the truck bounced and shuddered, the h3 just floats smoothly over...

and here i thought I was the only one that used the H3 in oilfield, luckly I don't have to sleep in mine. They provide us with living quarters out here and some times they let me visit my new house and sometimes have fun with the wife. One more month to go till I go home ( this has been a long 4 months).

I get a few laughs, but mostly sincere interest. They are real surprised to see how versatile it is. I have come to the conclusion that diesels are highly over rated for the regular guy. There are too many usage restrictions (no extended idling, constant fuel treatments, bad fuel warranty denials, can't idle in Park with Dodge autos, expensive and frequent injector replacements... ect)

Glad to see the statement. It is overrated.

:beerchug: I was thinking of doing that to the whole back for camping but my full airbed didnt fit.
A twin should fit the back fully.
I see old couch cushions are used for the cargo area(easy enough to come by) where did you get the blue pad that you used on the back of the seat to level it ?.

The one sleeper would be great for a trip so the copilot can take a nap and you still have room for cargo.:clapping: ( I thought of this also and found the lower mattress of a pullout daybed will fit the left side)

I have this setup for the dog ,I guess you could nap there but a liitte short for sleeping.

The stinky, noisy diesel I assume you are talking about.

Unfortunately, I did that to a coworkers new truck and was none too popular! Another coworker came up with some cleaner (OxyDeep?) which got it out. I run three pairs of overalls so I'm not trashing jeans non-stop..

I got it at Academy, but I saw them at Walmart as well, in the camping/outdoors dept.
