2 TRAFFIC TICKETS THIS MORNING
 

So Iam driving to work and I pass a motorcycle cop that is sitting at the four corners of our downtown main street. He looks twice at me and starts the following. He pulls me over and states the following.
"Do you know why I pulled you over" I replied "you wanted to see my 35" tires" :dancingbanana: I know it was a smart a$$ comment but I really had no idea why he was pulling me over. Here is what i got two tickets for. BTW Iam in NYS

1- NO FRONT LICENSE PLATE = $90.00 (I dont have any front plates on any of my cars :giggling: ) as of today at least........

2- Rear Plastic LICENSE Plate Cover = $90.00 Once again I have covers on all my cars license plates.
(According to the NY State Vehicle and Traffic Law under section 402-1, number (license) plates "shall not be covered by glass or ANY plastic material" )

In any case New Yorkers beware the two tickets I fear most came true this morning. Now my $6.35 parking day turned into $186.35:rant: :rant:

I got nabbed for the front plate beeing off by customes at the NY border. Explained that the mount was damaged and I was waiting a new one. Seemed to worked as he bought the story. See the DA and make up some reason for the the plate being off. He should reduce the charge/penalty to something far less than $90. Good luck.

You,being from New York,are lucky the cop is used to smart ass answers.I'm sure this could have proven to be a lot more costly if this had happened somewhere else.

it is regrettable, but looks like those cops were just doing their job right - but those are some steep fines though; oh, your answer was a good one although I doubt I'd try to be that funny if that happened to me...

I dont know if your aware of this but...

I NY those tickets are equipment violations if you put the front plate on and remover the plastic cover within 24 to 48 hours you go to the desk sargent at the precinct that issued the ticket they will inspect your rig and the tickets will be disregarded .No charge:dancingbanana: :jump: :excited:

Many people dont know this I deal with many young drivers with a drivers ed program and tell them this.Many I seen months later and said it worked for lights/tint/front plate/bald tire/cracked windshield ect.

Go to precinct Do now !

Sounds about like my ticket I got in NYS. I was driving on I-86 near Cuba NY when a turkey hunter shot my windshield in my Element. I call the police and they said- "You pulled over immediately, right?" I'm like um.....no. I'm from near Detroit and in Detroit when someone is shooting at you- you don't pull over. So....the cop finally comes along- does his assessment of the situation and sends me on my merry little way.

About 45 minutes later- on the other side of Jamestown NY (headed towards Erie PA)- I get pulled over by a state trooper. The trooper gets out of his car- walks to my drivers side window and says "Mam- do you know it's illegal to drive in the state of NY with a severly broken windshield?"
I was shocked. First of all- I get shot by a damn turkey hunter (who breaks my perfectly fine windshield). Then I get a ticket from a cop because I'm driving illegally in the state of NY. Not to mention the fact that the cop totally thought I was full of $hit when I said I was shot by a turkey hunter. What the hell is wrong with NYS?

I have always had to pay $10 on the fix it tickets, ie: tint, no front plates, windshield crack. Let me know what youre tellin em if thats not the case for you. :popcorn:

I say "look it's fixed". And they sign it in Sunnyvale in the parking lot of the police station.

Sorry to hear your misfortune. I would def take the truck back in ,let them look at it, and get the tickets taken care of. :(
