I Have A Confession To Make...
I don't know where my front outer fendors are..??:crying: When I drive my 3 I CAN figure out where my passenger side tires are on the road my looking at the center of the hood in relation to the outer edge of the raod and checking in the side mirror.
But, here's where I wimp out...and I'm not afraid to to confess...When I pull up close to an object it's very hard to tell Where TF those front flared teeny tiny fendoors are on the passenger side "Front". The rears I can see in the mirror. But when you pull in on an angle...it get's "F" ed up. The driver side ain't too bad ..but the passenger side sucks. I think I need a set of traning wheels so to speak. You know, two little rods attached to the small front fendors that stick up above the hood with fulorescent ping pong balls on the top. You know like your friendly neighboorhood Garbage Truck. :jump: Too Bad they don't makle a set for the 3...I could also collect garbage on the side and make a few bucks:clapping: WTF do you do...??? |
Re: I Have A Confession To Make...

I thank the Man up above every day for my double length

I posted about that about a year ago...
Went to several LARGE TRUCK STOPS, plus on line and could only find the very large ones like maybe 3 feet tall and a wired led at the tip.. |
Re: I Have A Confession To Make...

Cool Gunner... Kinda big ....and they look like candy canes.. Need to invent a power operated telescoping ..joint... that shoots out of the fendor when needed... :jump: |
Re: I Have A Confession To Make...
With your stereo off, air off, and windows open you slowly and very gingerly ease your way up to the object you do not want to scrape, crunch or have any other nastiness happen to your truck, then move to the point you can hear the noise you think it would make when you come in contact with those bad things and you will know you are there! Then you make a permanent record of that point and mentally back it off a couple of inches and you will know when to stop in the future. :giggling:

Oh.. I see... So I guess you sit in your lounge chair and close your eyes and pretend your driving your H3 down the road with a Big T_ Ty Blonde along side you fondling your gearshift. And when she moans ... you make a mental note of where your hand was so you can get that excact spot later. Or..when you change your Forum Name from H3less to Gotta 3:giggling: |

It also works for any other truck, just ask my wife! Now I have to get back to that idea you gave me,:excited: :excited: :excited: |
Re: I Have A Confession To Make...
hey vette
here is a suggestion; instead of the curb "finders" why dont you go get a set of curb "feelers" like the old la bamba's had in the 70's? they attach to a lower part of a fender, are like a foot long or so, are mounted at a 45 degree downward angle, and they are made of like a spring (chromed for the bling factor) They make a noise when you get within a few inches of anything. That would be classic!!!!!!!! The other approach is simply to keep in mind that the edge of the front tire is in alignment with the edge of the rear tire, so using the sideview mirror angled down a little and looking at the position of the rear tire you can infer the position of the front tire. :clapping: |

get some 35's they stick out further than the fenders ;) |

Technically you are right, 9" sidewalls protect the alloy wheels from curb damage quite well.:D |
