Who makes tough rubber floor mats?

3 Attachment(s)
Well, bought Hummer rubber mats for the H3 when I bought the truck. After using them for a year, taking them out 2-3 times to clean them...they break. Man, that's some pretty flimsy rubber.
So who makes tougher thicker ones? And recommendations?

Thanks

Hmmm, that's odd, have had mine over 2 years and they're still holding up great, maybe it was a defect?

X2 I scrubbed them down countless times.I was saying to my wife the other day how mats never hold up this well.
Maybe that upstate salt in the winter got to them.

I've never seen them do that either...where did you buy them? If you bought them as part of the car deal, I'd see if your dealer would exchange 'em..

Doubt it's the salt, mine have gone through two Canadian winter's.

This definitely looks like a defect on his set, or that one piece in general. They're mold injected so it's completely possible that the part that ripped was thinner than normal.

Like Hummer Guy stated, if you got it as part of the vehicle or from a dealer, they should definitely replace it free of charge. That's far too soon for it to start ripping.

Thanks all. Yes bought them from dealer with the original H3 purchase. I'll see what they say. Husky's look nice. So if I dont get a replacement from dealer, might go for them.

Husky is the way to go, :clapping: almost ten years in my Jeep and no problems, my wife has had them in her cars also. Great for snow and water! They really protect the carpet.

Weathertech, molded to fit the footwell, I did have to put some velcro on the door panel to hold the lip down under the door when shut.:)

Wow.. That's weird...Mine are only 6 months old and have been washed a bunch of times. Seem to be holding up fine. There thick tough and heavy. Looks like it's hard to tare them up.

Wow - mine are holding up just awesome after one year and a really nasty winter - but I have never pressure washed them either. I wash them with a scrub brush, dish soap, and tap water in my slop sink.... Sometimes using 409 as well.

Question: By chance did you leave your stock mats underneath the rubber mats? I removed mine carpet mats b/c my heal was sinking in too deep.

Ok, to finish the story...didn't get Hummer replacement mats because warranteed for 12mon/12K miles. I have about 21K.
So I took Drtyfn suggestion and got the husky floor liners and supported the Elcova by getting 'em thru somo.com. <Thanks Jason>

The Huskeys are not as flimsy, cover mush more of the sides of the foot area, and the rear liner is a one piece that covers the center hump as well. The only issue, is that the front seats, when all the way back, will move the back liners a little bit. I have found that if I put the front seat back "almost" all the way, where you can still put the rear seat down, the floor liner is fine.

And now for some pics for you all. :)
Last two are the back liner - what happens when front seat is all the way back

I like that rear mat a lot better than the factory mats. The factory ones move around a lot, but those ought to stay right where you put them. Better coverage too.

Husky liners are solid for the money, I've had them on several other vehicles. Just ordered these for mine http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvp...ustomerVehId=0
These weathertech liners are far and away the best thing out there. A little pricey, but they have the best fit, best protection and they last
