Brembo Gran Turismo brakes

Well, I have about 2000 miles on the brakes and I am still getting lots and lots of brake dust. Anyone else have this problem? I was told it will go away after they get broken in, but so far nada..Da BRUTE

I think they mean it will go away each time you wash it:)

Just out of curiosity, why did you switch from the OEM brakes?

Re: Brembo Gran Turismo brakes

When I increased the tire and wheel size, I noticed that it became a little more difficult to stop the BRUTE, plus it made sense to me to install a bigger and better brake system and Brembo stood out as being the best. My original oem brakes never shed a spec of dust from day one. Unfortunately, the Brembo's do, but they do provide a very smooth stop, without much effort on the pedal. If I had it to do again, knowing what I now have experienced, I wouldn't have spent the bucks on them. Should have gotten my Magnacharger instead..I'm taking it back to the shop tomorrow for a checkup to see if there is any problem that might be causing it..

my spellin is gonna be off but you will get the idea try a pad from portified. they make a low dust pad that alot of performance cars use.

Re: Brembo Gran Turismo brakes

Thanks, I think you mean Porterfield and yes they do make an almost dustless pad. I will check into them. In the meantime, I discussed the problem with Race Technologies (group that handles the Brembo high performance brakes) and they told me that brake dust is a by product of the high performance brakes. They also said they will be coming out with a ceramic pad for the Brembo GT by years end which will cut down on the dust dramatically. So there is hope..DA BRUTE
