Help
Need some help finding out a name and address. Some asshat hit my Vette in a hotel parking garage while pulling into a spot. The kicker is he stayed in the parking spot next to me. Came out and saw that the damage on his car matched up to mine...filed a police report, and left a note on the guys car asking him to call me. He called and was a huge douchebag. I need to get a name and address so I can give it to the cops and my insurance company. The KC MO cops could probably care less, but I want this guys insurance to pay for my repairs. I have a license plate # and a cell phone #. PM me if you can help. Thanks.

Re: Help
The police won't give that info to the insurance company?

Re: Help
KC MO cops aren't known for putting forth very much effort. Plus it was on private property (the hotel parking garage), and it's an out of state Oklahoma tag. They turn the report over to their "Hit and Run" department since the driver wasn't there in person. I asked him if he thought they'd be able to find out the info, name, insurance, etc...He said of course they're able to, he just wouldn't count on it and that I'd be better off if I managed to find it and call them with the info.....great police work right?

Re: Help
Hope you get the guy!

Re: Help
comforting to know that the local PD lives by the "protect and serve" motto isnt it....

Re: Help
I'm not surprised. They're pretty overworked and understaffed. Had it happened in the county where I live things would have been a lot different. I guess this just solidifies why I've gone into KC MO off duty 6 times in the 7 years I've lived here.

That's a bummer, Marc. A few months ago I had some wench at Home Depot scrap the side of my Suburban as she backed out. One of the clerks saw the whole thing before she immediately drove off. She scraped it so bad that she actually got stuck and had to move forward to dislodge herself. Anyway, I know a lot of cops and I talked to them about a scenario like this (when it happened to me). They said that no way in heck are you ever going to see any justice. It simply is not a high enough priority for any dept. You need to extract justice yourself. On a side note.... I see a non-stop stream of cops giving people speeding tickets in Jefferson Country, almost every day. Hmmm. What a surprise it is that raising speeding ticket revenue is a much higher priority than dealing with actually property crimes. |
Re: Help
Well, got the estimate today...1800 at a minimum. If he broke any of the energy absorbing crap underneath the rear bumper it'll be more.
