Hard to say how long he can stay on the wagon he has tried many times and failed. I have seen hundreds of rocks shows and no one alive holds a candle to his playing. Not even Clapton bish, wait ok maybe Pete Townsend, or maybe Joe Satraini, well

I was going to take exception to the no candle comment, until I saw the P. Townshend exception. I have never seen anyone play like Pete.
