I need to get at the back of the cig lighter. I figured that if the large plastic peice below the steering wheel could come off I could get at it from the side. Has anyone done this?

has anyone taken off the large panel w/out removing the center panel. we all know how to do the center panel - I am asking a different ?

Paul,
You will have to move the center console to remove the lower left dash trim piece - there is a single bolt hidden behind the center console. At that point it would be easier to just remove the center dash trim plate to access the cigarette lighter.
