Getting ALL the lights off, at night??
Coming up on Halloween. I do a Hummer Hayride where we pull a trailer and the trailer has black-lights on it. We run it down an alley-like driveway and have all sorts of interactive effects, cool stuff. I need the H2 to run with NO lights on at all. I can get the headlights off by turning the switch up one notch, but I can't get the darn running lights to turn off....and this thing is like a friggin' Christmas tree! I generally put a bunch of black electrical tape around all the lights or other stuff...but I really need it totally off this year. And taking out all the bulbs isnt' an option either.
I've looked for a fuse and can't find one specific one that'll do the trick. Perhaps if I put a small light under the light sensor it'll fool the thing into thinking it's daytime and that might be the easiest thing. I'm not even sure where that sensor is though.... Any techno nerds still got their heads on? I suppose I could always move to Canada where everything is ghey....but that seems like too much trouble ;) I'd like to throw-out some love and greetings to all my favorite scrotum-suckin' rectal warts out there...how's everything? |
Re: Getting ALL the lights off, at night??
umm, it would be in your owners manual but I guess I'll tell you. Twist your light switch counter clock-wise and release. Thank you and good day Sir!;) :D

the twist the light switch thing works, but so does black paint....

Re: Getting ALL the lights off, at night??
can always smash the lights with a stick....but if you dont want to do that....just twist the switch....

Hey if you do it daytime, no one will know your lights are on.

i dont know if this does anything but if you press the i button on the wheel you should come across something that says perimater lights on/off. I dont know if that turns all the light off when its in gear.

perimeter lights are the DRL and reverse lights that come on when you hit unlock on the remote. |

WOW! Steve, how's it hanging. I don't think I've logged on to this board in well over a year, ever since the the whole thing changed....................again. Anyway no advice on the light thing, just wanted to say hi. Hows the Ferrari, hows the insulation buisness going?? Good luck with the lights,

Re: Getting ALL the lights off, at night??
The DRL's are shut off by twisting the light switch counter clockwise like others said. However if you shut off and restart the truck, the lights with come back on when you put it in gear, so you'll have to twist the switch again. If you keep it running they will not come back on.

Hilarious.....all these years I was thoroughly under the impression that the spring-loaded counter-clockwise movement of the light switch merely turned off only the DRL's. I just tired it; your right! excellent! :) I also wanted the brake-lights off too.....but pulling 2 different fuses related to the brakes did nothing. That's okay.....for the two tail-lenses and top section I can just use black tape. It was all the other christmas-tree marker lights that drove me nuts. And yes, I understand how turning off the car and re-starting re-initializes the system. Hey Negate....long long time, I haven't posted here for years. The club has long since disbanded and the H2 hasn't seen much offroading in years; I got the paint all buffed clean and just don't want to trash it up again. Sooner or later I'll have me some fun. Business is good, family is great, Ferrari is fast!!! Upgraded to the 360 spider too! :) Hey, weren't you that guy that Dennis & Drty drove off???? ;) Just kidding. How are things with you? |
