Trouble with Rockstar wheels!

I recently purchased a set of Rockstar wheels and they really don't seem to be worth the money. I initially had problems with them (defects) and had to have them sent back and replaced. I finally got the new set in and now 1 of the "new" ones has a bend in the lip. It also seems like everyone of the center caps has scratches all over the PLASTC star symbol! Seems with the price of these wheels, they could have made a better center cap (possibly non-plastic) and one that actually fit down onto the wheel instead of "hovering" 2 inches above it. WTF was the purpose in that! Anyway, I like the straight on look of the wheel, however they don't look like they would be able to hold up long. If you are considering these, I'd say rethink it. If there are others who have these wheels, let me know what you think of the set-up. Thanks for the space to RANT!.....Jamie:mad:

That's some crap luck man! I know others that have them and like them.

I looked at a set of 5 today and they were perfect. My tires will be in on Friday, so I'll have them on as well.

As for the center caps, you can mod them so they fit down closer to the rim. I've seen this done and will do the same if I end up keeping the caps on.

Yes, the center caps are plastic,. most caps are.

So, where;s the pics of them? What tires did you put on?

What kinda mod will make them sit closer? Do you also have to trim the bolts that hold them on so that they are not too long? I have them wrapped in Toyo Open Country MT's (35's) I haven't had time with work and all to take any pics yet, I'll get some up shortly though. Please hit me back on that mod though, love to drop those things closer to the wheel. Thanks bro.....Jamie

It's "suppose to be" a good company. They are in the orginal box and don't seem to be seconds. Any other way to tell? Thanks....Jamie

How was the box sealed?

You haven't mounted them yet, right? What about returning them for your money back if you are that dissatisfied?

Taped (doesn't look like it was ever taped before) and each had 2 band straps around. The inside center caps were in a sealed bubble wrap.

Can you tell if the box lids had been glued down before?

Edited my post above to include 2 more questions.

I agree, I have heard nothing but good things about the xd series. what a bummer if they do not hold up, I have wanted some rockstars ever since they came out. I am getting black. Aren't they suppossed to be teflon coated or something. Seems they would be pretty tough.

Search - advanced search - enter word(s) in the Search By Key Word field & enter the name of the user in the Search By User Name field. You may then select which specific forum you'd like to search.
