2008 pricing

I'm helping my sister locate and purchase her first Hummer.
She's looking at a 2008 Greystone Metallic SUT. She contacted 2 different Hummer dealerships, and only one sent her a price quote.

2008 fully loaded (no chrome :() priced at $55,555.00

I was wondering if you folks that have recently purchased a new H2 or anyone else, could tell us if that's a reasonable quote.

Included was:
Adventure pkg
LUX (w/out chrome)
nav
dvd
rear backup camera
fancy sound system

Here's a copy of the quote sent from the dealership.

Thanks in advance!

Re: 2008 pricing

I would say that $55000 is a good deal for an 2008 since I see the 2007 on the lot for $60000-$65000 fully loaded here in sacramento. Did you look on the hummer website to see what the prices were to compare?

Is she going to wheel it? That would be so cool!!:excited:

Well, I'm not sure if she'll go to Moab or the Rubi right off the bat, (even tho she's been to both) but she's always out in the Mtns and desert. I bet she'll just tell me that she'd rather take mine and dent it instead.:OWNED:

I was thinking more like the Paris to Dakar or maybe we should start with Baja? In yours of course.

Re: 2008 pricing

My 08 stickered just a tad over $66K, its an SUV Lux with everything but the air suspension. Dealer gave me off about $3500 if I recall correctly.

Re: 2008 pricing

Thanks Mike :) She lives in an area where the nearest dealership is 3 hours away and the next closest is 4 hours, so it isn't easy to run in and check on prices.

Re: 2008 pricing

55K is a good deal. What's important is that she will be getting the upgraded motor/powertrain setup. It should be more efficient and powerful.

good luck!

Re: 2008 pricing

I would say that 55k is a heck of a deal for the 08. That is more like what i have seen on 07's that they are trying to move.

hey thats a great deal plus are you sure its a sut i was told those are still months away only the suv's are available in the 08 so far; i wanted to trade up but waiting for the sut's to arrive.

Re: 2008 pricing

I would also say that 55K is a great deal...... Hell a loaded up 07 Lux around here used is going for 50K+ all day, 06's are mid 40's (really low mile ones are upper 40's)

Re: 2008 pricing

better hurry up on that one....

Re: 2008 pricing

Sounds like a good deal. The 2008 SUT's are out already as well. The first dealer I went to had a couple of them.

The new engine and trans are great. I haven't gotten through the first tank yet and done any official mileage calculations, but the DIC is reading 15MPG average so far with less than 300 miles on it.

My 2005 I was seeing 12.5MPG with about 9000 miles on it.

Don't know for sure yet, but it looks like the new engine / trans / gearing is helping some with the mileage.

Now what are the Tree Huggers going to complain about? :giggling:

Re: 2008 pricing

My 08 SUT was $55,555 base. That appears to be standard. I added the Adventure package which was like $1700. However the real surprise was the addendum stickers between the two local dealers - let alone the order price!

Dealer 1 - Dew Hummer in Pinellas Park
Couldn't find a 2008 without 5 to 10k addendum sticker. Avg price of LUX was $68000. $5000 non-refundable cash deposit required to order!

Dealer 2 - Reeves Hummer in Tampa (Talk to Joey)
Stickers with no addendums. H2 SUT LUX with all options in the new orange rust color was $62000. $1000 refundable deposit required to order.

So you can guess where I ordered from (expecting October 1 delivery!!!!)
Havn't been this excited over a vehicle in a while. :excited:

What were the addendum stickers for? Mine stickered out at $66K and change but that included the nerf bars and roof cross rails. My dealer went to NJ to pick my 08 up. No deposit, no junk fees, no BS. I am surprised the dealer didnt locate one for you at another dealer.

Congrats on the 08 - you are going to love it!

Now we're talkin'!:D

Hopefully they'll honor everything they sent in the email once she makes the trip to pick it up. I wonder if she could back charge fuel and mileage expenses?;)

I dunno. I guess there wasn't one available yet. Maybe cause of the adv series?
