HAVE FUN!!! You'll need a cutting torch or plasma cutter.
Why would you want to take it off?

remember my "not so moab friendly camera..." yea...

You going to use the plasma cutter to cut the four bolts that hold the hitch on??? You need to yank the rear bumper and the trailer hitch is held on with four bolts (63 ft.-lbs. of torque if I'm not mistaken).

De-hitch away!

hey if thats true... then thanks alot!!! time to get you outta the novice..

Amazing what one can figure out when they've got 3,000 pages of GM service manuals to pull from. Best $180 I've spent on this thing...

My hitch is coming off this weekend to get powdercoated as I was rear-ended a few weeks ago.

Where in Denver are you? I'm in Highlands...

I think he's talking about the rear receiver.

DH22G 09-06-2005 06:45 AM

the rear reciever? iam so confused.. I just need to remove the rear hitch reciever because my rear cam is welded onto the bottom of it. remember how much of a pain that was in moab?

DRTYFN 09-06-2005 01:26 PM

Can't you just grind out the weld on the camera bracket?

Humdingah 09-06-2005 03:00 PM

The hitch receiver is part of the entire hitch assembly...you'd have to lose the entire hitch to remove the receiver without resorting to using a plasma cutter as DRTYFN mentioned. It's all or nothing unfortunately.

DH22G 09-06-2005 03:45 PM

well i would like to keep my camera... damn.. im mad at my shop now.. gotta call them and figure this out.
