Whipple problems

I have a 03 h2 with a whipple on it and just shelled my 2nd motor with only 51/2 pounds of boost!! I believe it,s from detonation. It killed the #3 hole. Has anyone had problems like this? Also does anyone make a intercooler for this thing. I have heard rumors of others having these problems but no proof and have not actually talked to anyone directly with this same issue but have read stories on other boards. I called whipple but got exactly what i expected ( ABSOLUTLY NOTHING AS THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING ). My plans are to rebuild the motor using forged coated pistons and h-beam forged rods and try to figure out some sort of intercooler. And also have tpi industries do flash and program. What has everyone else done? Should i junk this whipple or keep it. Should of bought a magnum. 2 motors later and a super charger rebuild is starting to get expensive!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If its detonation you may need custom tune done. Maybe change the plug heat. Get a cooler if you can. A good tunner shop should be able to get you dialed in right.

Sounds like the tune was junk if it really is from detonation. What happened? Did a piston break or what?

If you blew 2 motors I would agree that your tune is out of whack, hook up with a reliable/reputable tuner in your area and have him tune that thing as soon as that new motor is installed. If your running a blower you may want to look into a couple of things such as a bigger fuel pump/injectors if needed and also a EGT gauge so you can keep tabs on how hot its running.

As long as you don't squeeze the Charmin, you'll be okay--that is if you really have Mr. Whipple in your vehicle. Otherwise, he will chastise you.

I have an '03 with the Whipple and have over 60k miles on it with absolutely no problems. I run 6lbs. of boost.
