How do you reset the MPG display?

Currenly running at exactly 10MPG

Want to reset it, get a fresh avereage, Ive never touched it since getting the car.....anyone give me some advice? My manual is AWOL.

select ave mpg screen then press and hold Enter (arrow) a few seconds
