Question to those with Nav + DVD
Hey, I have a '08 H2 with Luxury and Navigation and was wondering if there is a hack or something I can do to play a DVD on the navigation unit while in drive? It does play a DVD when in park, but disables the screen once you get out of park.
Also, I was wondering if there was a hack, will it also allow to type in address on the Navigation screen while driving? I can do that with my Navi in my other cars like my Acura, but with the GM Navi or at least the newer models, once you get out of Park or start moving it disables you from typing in an address, etc. Thanks in advance! |

I thought there was. Same as the 07 tahoe/ Escalade/ Denali. I don;t have part numbers, but I know my buddy has his unlocked to use his Nav while driving. I'll see what I can find out. |
Re: Question to those with Nav + DVD
I had the installer bypass mine so I could run it while driving. I believe the hot is the parking brake. Try engaging it enough to turn the light on without engaging the brake much and see.

Timgco, thanks! I was thinking the same thing. My buddy with a '07 Tahoe has the same Nav unit as mine so I figured there was a fix for it already.
Adam, I think aftermarket Navs can be tricked easier since the installer attaches the screen disable to the hand brake function. With the stock Nav + DVD in the H2, to type something on the Nav, you have to be completely stationery. Regardless if you are in park or not, as long as you're stopped, then you can type, once you start moving the buttons will be disabled to type. With regards to the DVD, once you shift out of park, the screen disables the DVD and only plays on the overhead. Regardless, thanks though for the tip. I really do appreciate the help! |

Yup... We haven't had a huge request for these, but we sell Coastal Tech's lock pick.
