Annual Fluid Change?

I used the Hand Pump (thread sounds perverted) I use for my diff fluids and pulled the brake fluid and power steering fluids out and filled both holes with Valvoline Syn Power fluids. Both were completely black at 40K miles. Went to grab dinner with family and the steering and brakes feel new again. Didn't notice over all those miles how the "feel" had dimished so much.

Mine has 43k, been thinking about changing all the fluids. Was going to wait until 50k, but hearing this I think I will just go ahead and do it right away.
