Non-Surprise announcement by GM today.
GM announced H3T production plans today...
http://news.windingroad.com/plantsma...on/#more-10882 General Motors Confirms Hummer H3T Production Written By: Phil Floraday Filed Under: Plants/Manufacturing, Trucks/Pickups, Chicago Auto Show, New York Auto Show, Hummer, Future Vehicles, Automotive News October 30th, 2007 2:09 PM </B></B> ![]() This seems like a bit of an accidental release to us, but Hummer confirmed production of the H3T pickup today in a press release detailing expansion of the Shreveport, La plant that builds the H3 and Canyon/Colorado. We don’t yet know which show the H3T will use for its public debut, but Chicago or New York seem most likely since it’s scheduled to hit dealer lots in the third quarter of 2008. Engine choices are unlikely to differ from that of the regular H3, so expect a 3.7-liter inline-five or an optional 5.3-liter V-8 in Alpha trim. There aren’t any specifics on the truck yet, but a crew cab configuration seems likely based on the spy shots we’ve seen. We do know GM will be investing $73 million in the Shreveport plant to accommodate the new Hummer. (Click below to read GM’s press release.) GM Investing $73 Million in Shreveport, La. Truck Plant for Production of HUMMER HT3 |

Looks cool. I still want an H1.

Minus the chrome and lights over the cab, I like it. Its ugly but looks rugged. Hopefully the do it right front the get go with the cast iron front diff in all models. :beerchug:

There aren?t any specifics on the truck yet, but a crew cab configuration seems likely based on the spy shots we?ve seen. They might as well call this one an SUT and give it a folding midgate because the small bed would be useless.

Hmm?:OWNED: :perfect10s:
Very interesting. |
Re: Non-Surprise announcement by GM today.
I highly doubt it'll look like that concept truck you have pictured. I expect it'll just look like an H3 with a small bed.
That said, I hope I'm wrong!;) |
Re: Non-Surprise announcement by GM today.
good reading though....

Re: Non-Surprise announcement by GM today.
I also doubt it will look like the concept. I just hope they give it a real bed and not do like they did with the H2. Blech.

With the $73M to upgrade the plant. It will be interesting to see what rolls off the line. Hope they do it right:twak:

Re: Non-Surprise announcement by GM today.
The pictures were posted on WindingRoad.com, I just did a cut and paste so people wouldn't have to jump to the article. The article also stated that they didn't know which version of the truck would be green lighted. From previous forum posts and other information it looks like the H3T will have a Colorado short bed replacing the cargo area with no mid-gate.
Too bad because a mid-gate would have been a nice feature. |
Re: Non-Surprise announcement by GM today.
Man, that would be a great vehicle to send the daughter off to school in. I wonder when canopies or tonneaus will be available.

Re: Non-Surprise announcement by GM today.
I hope it gets produced and doesn't wind up a phantom like the H4.

Someone on this site is spending way too much time under the hood detailing! ![]() You know, I probably wouldn't spend the time to do it, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. It's a lot better than throwing a bunch of chrome under the hood. |
Re: Non-Surprise announcement by GM today.
Wait......What? They are making a truck?
