OMG there is a new one out by Sony that IS THE $HIT!!!!!

I too have been looking at cams for about a year now and I have been waiting on this new memory stick HiDef Cam to come out for a while now and it just came out a few months ago. Just waiting on the right bank to rob to be able to afford it. But its defintely on my list.

Go buy it now - dont listen to any BS about memory stick media limitations as this is the end all of all the new latest and greatest! (haha totally my biased opinion) :giggling:

It uses memory stick media so no, DVDs or Tape BS to convert to. It automatically converts to MPG files (your choice of formats as well and resolutions etc...)

Now I know what some are going to say about memory stick media. well, here is an inside tip. next year there will be a huge capacity breakthrough on memory stick media capacity which will make all the other HD cameras seem like old technology (which are great but still have a HD as a weak link for failures as we all know hard drives fail in just a matter of time and also get hot and use A LOT of juice thus causing the battery life to suck major moose dong).

If you are dead set on getting a HD based camera (which would be a second place choice to the first link click the second link for the HiDef 60gb HD based unit as well.

Best Buy has it - go here

B thanks for the information! I was looking at those Sony HD cams on line last night after I started this thread.

From what I can tell, unless you are going to drop well over $3K, they are the best ones out. Got an extra grand laying around?....LOL

We have a Sony Handycam now, but its one with the tapes...I think its an 8MM tape...nice cam, just a pain with the tapes. I'd rather have DVDs.

Seems like you can burn to the DVD with those Sony's quite easily.
