Considering an 08 H2

Hey everyone, I currently have an 06 H2, but after going out and driving the 08 last weekend, I can't get it off my mind.

I love mine, and I have done just about everythign to it that I could.... but I just REALLY liked the new transmission, and the new door panels that dont squeak and rattle, etc... On the other hand, I do really like the original hummer looking dash..... but guess there isnt a lot I can do about that.

When I bought my H2, it was a DEMO with like 4k miles, so I got a real good deal on it... not to mention I got 0% interest for 60 months.

Being where I am in my current H2, I really would have to find a great deal to switch over to a new one.

Has anyone heard of any killer deals or know where the better chances of finding a dealer demo may be? Also, anyone aware of any 0% financing offers?

I HATE paying anything more than I should when it comes to vehicles... just want to be sure I am getting the best deal possible.

Thanks!

At this point in time, I would assume that the killer deals would be on the leftover 2007s. I would expect heavy discounting on these plus zero percent financing as well. On the 2008s, low interest fiancing may be offered instead of zero, IMHO.

Sewell dealerships in Dallas area are only offering $2000 GM rebate off MSRP, but they will get you exactly what you want. This was the same price I was given by Al Serra in Colorado Springs.

I was offered $33K for my 2005 H2 SUV LUX, 13K miles to trade on 2008. Since I still owe money to the bank, that would mean paying another ~$60K for the new 2008. I think I will keep mine for now.

There are good ways to improve sound proofing. Plus you can tighten things up as well as lube certain sqeaking points all over the 2005 and other years. It would cost allot less than trading for new etc. Talk to a good body shop that you trust and they can guide you along.

Was at the Hummer dealer near my home yesterday to pick up a harness for the trailer brake controller I need to install. I looked at an 08 (didnt drive it) but I have to say the interior is simply sweet, definately looks and feels to be of much higher quality....especially the door panels. Granted it does not look as rugged but I want the car to be rugged on the outside and quality on the inside. I would say inside of 2 years we will definately be looking at upgrading to a 08 or newer style, curious to see how the Diesel model turns out.

you probably need to give the dealer some time to get rid of the remaining "07's after that you could probably find a much much better deal on hte "08 since theres no more "07 for them to trow a deal on.

You are lucky, up here they do not offer crap for H2's in trade. Dobles offered $23k for my 05 with 60k on it. I was not looking at another H2 but still talk about taking a whack in value! As much as I love it I don't think I would buy another. This is my second and I have never seen vehicles take such a hit in depreciation. :(

I traded in my 06 SUV with 19K miles on it for an 08 SUV....got a few grand off the new one and also gave me quite close to KBB on my trade.

I was very pleased with the deal I got.

After 3000 miles...i am loving the interior...the engine and the tranny....light years better than the 06......i recommend the upgrade!

only thing that truly bugs me aobut the "08's on both the H2 and the H3 is the new front piece, as well as the new back pieces on the H2

What are you referring to? The grey bumpers?
