Moved from Pittsburgh to Birmingham and I had forgotten how cold the steering wheel could get. Woke up to 12 degrees this morning. |

It's you....
I would like to have had some controls on the dam thing though. You know, like radio, onstar calling and whatnot. |
Re: Is it just me........
i live in south florida, and it was soooo cold (my steering wheel) that i ad to have my sweatshirt over my hands to hold it, i dont know how you guys put up with it up north, as for the coldest vehicle ive ever owned, its the only vehicle ive ever owned, but hands down it was way colder than the steering wheel of my moms car or dads car, might be becuase there steering wheels are leather and mines not?!

Re: Is it just me........
I have a turning knob on mine...makes life a lot easier !!!! and warmer...
only thing is they are illegal in Florida unless you have a medical script and its added to your drivers licence as an endorsement (like a motorcycle permit)..... |
Re: Is it just me........
The morning drive, at 7:30am, my H3 thermometer said -4F. I wore gloves til the engine warmed up.

I'm thinking if you call around to some of the boneyard's you might be able to snag a leather wrapped one at a reasonable price. Hell they'll probably have it pulled off and ready to sell. Should be fairly easy to swap out. |
Re: Is it just me........
No, its not just you. $hit its cold! I have a leather wrapped steering wheel and it still gets cold. I notice it more when the temp drops below 55 or so. I have had other trucks do the same, but they would warm up after a few minutes. The H3 wheel stays cold the entire time. I guess the steering column is exposed behind the dash or something.

They might make it that way for all of us "ice-cold" conservatives! :giggling: |
Re: Is it just me........
There is an amazing invention used by those of us who grew up in the north...GLOVES.

Re: Is it just me........
The problem is the steering wheel is so thick it takes a long time to completely thaw out. I guess that is another benefit of the h2 much thinner steering wheel.

Re: Is it just me........
Poly Pro Gloves and the heated seats work fine for me!
|
Re: Is it just me........
I've been working out of Omaha recently, went to work a few weeks ago and the temp was -11, not counting the wind chill. I don't care what you drive and whats on your steering wheel. It's all cold at that temp!:beerchug:
|
Ha...you want cold?
It is 48 degrees BELOW zero today!! That?s WITHOUT WINDCHILL folks? ouch! Ahhh, the North Pole, gotta love it?or not? :notallthere: |
