Sweet Outfit! I've been yank'n mine around for the past year. My rig was the prototype for RoadMaster tow kits. I'm looking forward to the 500+ Hp in the next Coach!

Do you have a picture of the Roadmaster brackets? I have a Blue Ox bar and made a custom hook up that uses the Tow hooks. After three trips i see I will have to locktite the H2 bolts in the hooks, they tend to back out in time. Tows great from the hooks though. What are you towing with at the present time?

My second DP was a 99 40 ft single slide Windsor I think the Imperial and the Windsor are built on the same chassis and are very similar. Great coach should have kept it, traded with 10000 miles for a new dual slide 01 40ft Signature which I traded with 10000 for a used 2000 Royale prevost XL which i traded with 9000 miles for the new 02 Royale XLII which I now have driven 19000 miles. These things are kind of habit forming. Looks like you've been through and found the one that suits you. ![]() You are right, these things are habit forming! The next one will definitly have a tag axle, most likely a Navigator, 42' Executive, or possibly a Panther. The Prevosts are beautiful coaches, I haven't driven one yet, for the fear of selling everything to get it! ![]() ![]() hummer33 I get between 7 and 10 MPG, mostly 10! 7 miles per gallon avg for 19000 miles ( on one early 400 mile Midwest trip I got it up to 8 mph) includes gas used while parked with engine running. Most of the miles I pulled a Toad, but that does not seem to change the milage much. The bus weights 52000 pounds and gets 7 mph the H2 weights 6600 and gets 11 mph, bus seems to use fuel better.

From the picture it is hard to tell, does Roadmaster make use of the H2 Tow Hook bolts in their hookup? I made my on brackets and I used the Tow Hooks and found the bolts backed out some and came loose. Next year i will Locktie and Lock Washer them and keep a ggo eye on same. I am kind of tied to Blue Ox but did not like their brackets, however I plan on adding one of their brakes for the H2. Blue Ox sells one of my inventions the TruCenter steering stabilizer so I will go with their brake product. The tow hook bolts were replaced, and an additional hole drilled for the Brackets. Not trying to sell roadmaster, but I don't think there is anything--Safer--out there. JMHO ![]() Is the steering stabilizer made for All rigs? I'll check it out as soon as I get this posted. Been thinking about one for the coach. |
Big Z,
Here is a link to the TruCenter Stabilizer page http://www.aemfg.com/truecenter/TruCenter.html. I donot try to sell anyone I talk to on news groups, i am not employed by Ble Ox, I will answer questions about stabilizers in general and TruCenter if asked, but i will not tell you to buy any certain brand. Most of the centering type stabilizers Safety Plus, Howard Power Steering and TruCenter have several models and many bracket combinations so they should be able to service most applications. Each brand touts their own advantages and each of the three listed are different in design and how they address the steering control issue. All are find products, and any will vastly improve the drive qualities of a ill handling RV. John,
Thanks for the link! It looks to be a pretty good set-up. Not that the coach is Ill handling, but on occasion, that 40' sail gets hit pretty hard! This just might be the ticket! ![]() |
