H3 Suspension Problem?

Good Evening All,

I just picked up my 2008 H3 on Monday with Adventure Package. I was cleaning it up today, etc... my driveway kind of goes a little on a slope into my garage. I was walking from the street up to the garage and I noticed it looked like the drivers side was sitting a little lower on the LH side.

A few minutes ago I confirmed this with the tape measure. I understand I can adjust the torsion bars back there. Maybe I can adjust the torsion bar to fix it? It doesn't appear the shock is broken.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Gene.

Believe it or not I did do a search and not just on this forum, but another. I also did a google search.

After looking last evening the whole LH side, both front and rear are lower than the RH side.

I guess I need to adjust the torsion bar?

Since it is supposed to be on this site... any links?

I just did a quick search for you for lean, tilt, slant in the H3 Forum.... took about 1-2 min

So sit back and relax.....

Crooked 2006 H3 - driver's side sits lower.

common problem! Make dealer fix it as it requires an alignment after adjusting front torsion bars!

mine was like this im almost positive i got it fixed, or maybe i just got used to it over time, non-the less have the dealer do it if you see it, it really is lower than the other side, im gonna check mine out tomorrow to see if mines like that as well still or if i got it fixed.

I brought mine into the dealer last month and they said it was a known problem. They adjusted the rear, Yes I said rear and it was level when I measured it after getting home! Don't know exactly what they did but they knew something wasn't right before I got it out of my mouth so you shouldn't have any issues with your dealer covering it!

THey took some gas out of the tank so it didn;t lean so much? Added some sand bags to one side? I don;t see how you can adjust the rear. The front, that's easy with teh Tbars. But what is there to adjust in the rear?

Even though I work at a dealer, I wanted to fix it myself, lol.

This evening I was able to make it right on each side. My wife doesn't normally notice things like that but even she saw how lopsided it was the other day.

I wrote down all the measurements, marked the bolt, marked the same line on the socket. Took some up and down on each side adjusting.

I have all 4 corners within 1/4 an inch of each other. The rears are actually almost dead on but the front is the 1/4 of an inch. I will drive it and re-check.

I only have about 100 miles on it. Once I get 500 miles on it I'll tell them I feel it needs an alignment and get it done.

Don't be shy to fix it on your own. I had it done and looking back at my nicely fixed vehicle in about an hour.

Some of them got assembled while they were supported somehow. If you loosen the spring shackle bolts and shake and bounce the vehicle it will let the springs adjust.

Like Hunner said now I do remember them saying something about the shackles!:clapping: Now is it possible that that would cause it to pull to the right? Seems as though I now have a slight pull to the right and occationally pulles hard when breaking...not all the time though????

Your t-bars will adjust the front end. If you look under the truck and the lefthand side torsion bolt is adjusted all the way up then you need to back it out till you have 1/2" of thread. Check the right side and if it is not up all the way then your in good shape. You need to back off until the truck is level. Every 10 turns bounce the front of the truck up and down 4-5 times this will allow the torsion bar to settle.
