Someone pooped a BMW into my H3
 

1-11-08 Turning left onto Route 9 NJ some dude didnt see the red light and hit a bemer going about 60 mph and spun it into my H3!
Hit Right on the passenger side front wheel! I saw it coming like a bad dream. Had time to hit the brake and sprained my thumb trying to hit the shifter into reverse. Too late!
Off to the shop and rent a car for a few weeks... The H3 held nice but the aligment and fender + passenger door shot to sh*t.:beerchug:
Good news nothing to show but a cut left knee and sprained right thum.
No bag deployment and good showing on the H3! :jump: :beerchug:

You'll definitely fare much better in a Hummer. It might have been a different story if it was any other vehicle. Like a Civic.:giggling:

Glad to hear you came away with very little injury. in my line of work we crash everyones junk and trust me I love my Hummer.

glad your for hte most part alright, but 2 quetsions. 1 Where are the pics, 2. what would putting the shifter in reverse do besides braking the tranny espiaclly if yo were going faster. and 3. how much damage did the bmw fare?? yes im aware that was 3 questions!

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Having a hard time typing with a swolen thumb. The BMW was totaled. Fortunatly for the 5 people inside they were shook up but OK. They got hit HARD. The H3 took the hit right on the passenger front wheel and fender. Didn't look too bad but will need some work...
What happend This guy in a Red SUV ran a red light going maybe 50 MPH hit the beemer spun it into me. We were turning opposite. The BMW rear end got me on the wheel. Its towed over to the collision shop so no pics till I get over there. For now its Ice packs and asprin. Maybe a few cocktails.
Overall satisfied with the way the H3 took it. Out of line but still in the game!:popcorn:

Here is another angle. Glad I had a step bar and rock rail. That took off some of the energy on the hit. The guy at the beauty shop said my results will be much better with repect to what lies beneath...

Wow, I'm glad you are okay! :)

It must have been scary. Pretty funny how the Hummers stand up so well in these situations.

Make sure you go easy on your thumb and let it heal properly. Otherwise it could be a long term issue.
