Okay, so what's the latest in tire choices?

I've got a little over 40K miles on my Toyo Open Country's. (38x15.5-20's) I've still got about 3/16" of tread left but I want to replace them before I need to.

I love the tires but just wondering what else is out there. I checked out Khumo KL71's. They may look good but the reviews didn't really have anything favorable to say in the rain, light snow and general handling.

So, what's the newest, bestest tire out there in my size? I was thinking since I've got 4.56 gears and a supercharger, I may look at 40's...

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mark

I vote no go on the KL71's(and im running them) unless you are doing a big rim which i doubt you are. They tires vary from their online spec sheet and I like to get what a pay for. They are also a "rounder" and skinny tire where i prefer a "squarer, block" wide looking tire. For a m/t they seem to be fairly quiet but after a few miles they get a bit noisier. They performed well at Tellico, but i would like to see more sidewall flex--this may very well be because they only had 500 miles on them and needed to be broken in. I really liked my Procomp Extreme all terrain. They were quiet on road, looks somewhat aggressive, and were a wide square tire. They also performed well at Tellico and really conformed to the rocks...in fact i keep saying im putting them back on.

Thanks guys. I think I'm just gonna stick with the Toyo's again. They've done well for me so I'll try them again.
