Sorry H3

I flew out to Scottsdale for the Barrett-Jackson Show and the rental place gave me a 2008 H3 with leather. Mmmmm what can I say....

First there was this annoying sound coming for the rear, come to find out it was the spare tire stuff rattling around.

Next there was the no torque power or merging into traffic.

Its not like I'm purposely ragging on H3's and there owners but come on it was uncomfortable and forget about the backseat.

I will say easy to drive, turn on a dime....

I'm just curious about something, why have some H2 owners switched to H3's???

I have had some rattle issues with mine, but most have been pretty straightforward to fix. You drove a rental, what are you expecting??

I have had several vehicles over the years. When I bought my H3 I knew that it wouldn't merge into traffic like my Corvette, or climb a hill like my old Chevy Diesel pick-up. I have added exhaust and improved cold air intake and actually saw a noticeable improvement to performance for a relatively low cost investment. More than adequate peformance for street/highway use. I got a great deal on a very capable small SUV. I am 6' tall and 240lbs and have no issues with seat comfort and never had anyone complain about riding in the back seat which is MUCH more roomy than my extended cab truck.

Granted it is not an H2, but you are comparing Apples and Oranges! The size and performance is fine for me and most other H3 owners that I know, plus we have offroad capabilities that will take us just about anywhere that the H2 will go. Not too bad for a fraction of the cost. I can afford an H2, but I didn't see the need.

I am not mad that you voiced your opinion! You have every right to like what you want. I am just giving you one H3 owner's point of view.

I rented one last spring in Denver.
The first one I got in was filthy so I complained and told them to give me another one. The replacement unit was even filthier. :( Not the vehicles fault.
Anyway, I found the power to be adequate. Even at Denver altitudes. I didn't go drag racing or anything with it though.
I would love to drive the V-8.
Trade my H2 for one? Not on your life.:twak:

After 5 years and 69,000+ miles in my H2, I traded for a new '08 H3 Lux.

Reasons for going from H2 to H3? Hmmm. Let me see . . .

1. My H2 extended warranty ran out. Ha!
2. I was ready for a change after 5 yrs in the H2.
3. I liked the look and feel of the new H3 Lux.
4. H3 is more nimble and easier to maneuver around town.
5. H3 still has tough Hummer look and very good off-road capability.
6. I expected better mpg with the H3 and am getting 17 mpg.

But the real reason -- all things considered? I just wanted it.
:beerchug:

I have no problem merging onto freeway. I have no noise coming from the rear door/spare tire area. I admit entry to the back seats is a little awkward, but once in they feel quite comfortable -- as do the front leather buckets. I agree it is not as roomy on the inside as my H2, but hey, that's no surprise. I loved my H2, I now love my new H3.

Sorry H2 no sale. Watched someone parking one of those Orca's the other day at the market. Not good. Totally satisfied with the performance of my little monster.
Try testing some of the competion out. But like the man said make it apples to apples on the comp...:beerchug:
