Hi all,
as very few of you know I am an owner of Hummer H2 Lingenfelter LPE500 and I live in Prague, the capital city of Czech Republic in Europe. I WAS really happy with my car. BUT, something absolutely unexpectable happened to me. My car was stolen! Yes, it happened 2 weeks ago. I was in downtown hanging out with my friends. When I came back at the place where I left my H2 it wasnt there anymore. I am still schocked. Even guys from satelite tracking system didnt call me....When I asked them why they told me that their computer wasnt showing anything weird about the car. One week later police called me, they told me that they've found the car, but they didnt tell me anything about my car. When I got there the only thing left was just a FRAME and stuff which was impossible to take. These b$tches took everything!!!!! I didnt take any pictures since I was absolutely out of my mind.... The bad thing is that insurance payed me only 50% of its price. I won't accept that, I will take care of this later. So here is the deal. I think I am going to buy Hummer H3. Since this car is new they haven't received them here yet. So here are my questions: How does it perform on the road? I've heard that H3's engine is really weak. Is it true? Whats the 0-60 time? Top speed? I've asked salesman, but he didnt know. Of course I know its going to be much worse than my LPE 500, but since I've bought fast coupe I dont need fast SUV anymore. I was also thinking about buying the H2, but H3 finally won, I like it more and its smaller which is a big advantage here in Europe. Thank you for your time and I hope you will give me some advice! |

I have the Lux package and the Adventure package both. You get lower gears with the Adventure package for the 33" tires. I traded in a 2003 S10 ZR2 with the 4.3 V6 engine. The H3 is NOT short on power. One engineering trick is that the transmission shifts when it should to adjust for the engines load. Really a nicely engineer match between engine and transmission.
I also have a Tahoe which was like your H2. The H3 does not perform like a 5.7 or 6.0 engine. But, I respect the H3's performance. No regrets except I think I'm going to have to purchase my wife one also. ![]() |
![]() I missed this. Sorry to hear about it. Now make the insurance company pay. ![]() |

ey man, are you having flashbacks or something?:) |
Re: Hummer H3 performance
H3 road tests are available in numerous magazines (including Car and Driver, Motor Trend). Both H3 and stock H2 show similar levels of relatively slow acceleration on pavement.
