Yup, KenP's H2 is one badass machine. I had the pleasure of taking a ride in it when he shuttled me from the airport to the dealer to pick up my SUT.

I'm looking forward to checking it out better when we meet up again. I had a lot on my mind that day.

If you like the sounds of smoking 4 tires, the H2 drifting sideways off the line, and then squashing you into the seat, the Lingenfelter package is for you.

Got to love that video

I love seeing that video again. Had to email it to everyone that would appreciate it.

KenP 07-15-2004 12:40 PM

Oh stop boys. You're making me blush . That video cracks me up everytime I see it.

The most common question I get, and Dan heard it, is, "Is that thing full-time four wheel drive?"

Yup...

Maj, I dealt with Tim up there. If you have any questions about LPE just let me know.

HGW 07-15-2004 05:21 PM

Anyone know the 1/4 mile time of the H2 in that video? Pleae let me know--thanks

KenP--is that your H2?, I am out of the loop.

Is that what that guy said?? Couldn't figure out his southern accent. Kidding!

KenP 07-15-2004 08:11 PM

Yeah, it's mine . And it ran like crap. Here is another link. I braked early in the video. We were one second off what it is now AND we have not lightened the vehicle. In fact, we have added the GOBI Stealth and FREE GOBI ladder. I really would like to see high 13's without NOS. BTW, I am running 9lbs of boost on premium.

Thanks so much for posting the video of my LPE H2. It had been nearly 10yrs since I ran the quarter. The Lightning ran mid 15's all night. He actually won that race. I got off the gas early . The best I could muster was also mid 15's.

I was so disappointed that I called LPE the following Monday and told them. They responded by picking the truck up and running it back to IN. Several weeks later I got it back and it is awesome.

It was running mid 14's uncorrected on the computer. 0-60 in 6.46. Not bad for a 6500lb barn while lighting up the tires. .

Two wheel dyno numbers came back as follows:
Max HP: 385.5
Max torque: 405.2

Those numbers are at the rear wheel. It is estimated that the 4wd loses about 30% through the drivetrain. You do the math, we're talking about a pretty big number at the crank.

Anyway, I hope to be in Dinwiddie in the next couple of weeks. If you made the vid, come up and say hi.

HGW 07-16-2004 01:36 AM

KenP:

Thanks for the info. I ran my H2 at Englishtown, NJ last Friday--first time on the track in 29 years. Ran an 11.60 street Z/28 in the early 70's.

I got up to the prestaging lanes with my H2 and decided to hold the brake and just slowing raise RPM to 2000. I was planning to torque up a bit at the start.

I snapped my front drive shaft and ended up being towed off the track to right in front of the viewing stands. With no tools, the H2 sat for an hour and a half until I could get someone to give up some tools.

The crowd loved my H2 even when broken down but my friends were all laughing like hell. They know I push everything too far, too fast.

Took out the driveshaft and took it slow down the track for a test run on the rear wheels. Turned a 15.4----my 38" tires are too much (no surprise to me--going to 4.56 this winter)--they bogged my beast when shifting from 1st to second. Ran 1/8 mile in 9.8 seconds at 70.13---quarter in 15.4 at 86.56---when shifting the H2 just layed down and went to sleep. Sixteen MPH for the second 1/8th is sad.

The 460LE has a 3.06 first gear and a 1.63 second gear----to much of a leap with 38" tires, SC or not. I am running next Friday with some origional 35's to see how the reduced circumference leaps between 1st and 2nd. I had better go 14.8 or better. MY H2 is close to 7K due to the lift, tires, SC, etc.

I too plan to reach the 13.99 range after a few more mods.

BYW--did LPE reduce your pulley sixe for 9# boost. Maybe you can PM or e-mail me? I jumped this post and don't want to be rude to others.

Thanks again for the info.

KenP, first of all I have to say thanks for all the info you are giving day to day. For a total rokie like myself, everything you post is extremely valuable.

Hopefully you'll read this since I'm replying to a message that has been posted like 7 months ago...

Anyhow, you say above that you have personal contacts to LPE. I need to know about the emissions after the LPE set have been installed. As I posted before I am 90% sure I will go for the LPE 500 hp package, but since it is not legal in CA (some other SC packages are Whipple etc etc), I'd like to know what are emmission changes and how much in numberswise. By any chance, can you get them for me?

thanks!!!

If you want a proven reliable package and do not want to the work yourself the LPE package is the way to go. Not everyone has the time or desire to do this kind of work. Nothing wrong with that. But it does cost more and you do pay for the name.
Now, I can say from experience that the installation of the supercharger takes a long time (2 long days) and really sucks when you go to set that thing down on the engine... very ackward to say the least. However, I was able to get to a 15.05 ET with only the base Radix kit for less than $5k unpolished and shipped to my door. Now, I'm going to install GM factory electric fans on my 04 (they will be controlled by the pcm just as they would on a 05 truck) and go to 8 psi and see where I am performance wise. Should be well into the 14's with those changes.
It all comes down to your mechanical limitations and the limitations on your time. It can be done cheaper if you have patience, skill, and time. LPE does not work magic. There is no magic in the automotive world. LPE simply does the work to put together a solid performance package that is known far and wide as a quality deal.

P.S. You really need to look beyond any vendor with "G" in their name... they're out to "G"ank you. Look at any of the vendors over on LS1tech.com and shop them against each other, you'll get a better deal in the end.

those are some pretty hasrsh words...

KenP 02-24-2005 04:33 PM

W1N, I have no clue about the emissions. Call LPE and speak to Tim. They are very helpful and stand behind their product even when others don't. When my truck didn't perform properly they picked it up, fixed it and shipped it back... No charge. All because I was about a second off where I should be. They have even sent me a programmer to have.

I have been very pleased with them and to pull the times I have with all that extra crap on the truck really says something.

Here is a link to the Motor Trend article. BTW, I was pulling more HP and Torque than this truck. They are all alittle different.

I called Speed Engineering. Lots of help. I ordered my Magnum Supercharger and Headers with tax and shipping 5,037.00. Can't wait to get it installed. Not too worried on 1/4 mile times. Want to see it tow 7,000 lb up hill !!!

Cory, thanks for the help
