Sunday March 2

Good Morning All!

So whats the plans for today?

Today...well got the wall ripped down between the dining room and kitchen, have to crawl my arse back up into the attic to relocate a wire that was in the wall, then patch in the holes from where the wall was.

Got a call Thursday that the new cabinets are in and we go pick out the slabs for the granite counter tops wednesday!

Well as Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs says.....are you ready to get dirty....time to hit the attic....

Ken - Ah, those lovely first few weeks. Glad you said that instead of "watch CP feed, watch CP change diapers, etc..." :)

Today did not start off so hot. Toddler starts screaming at 12:50 AM this morning about a "giant hand that came off the ceiling and hurt my big toe." Umm, ok. Proceeded to wake up and scream every single hour from that point on. We finally gave up around 8 AM and he's been fine all day - not cranky, in a good mood. I, however, am dragging butt. Still managed to get some laundry done and took about 500 photos....we started doing a home inventory. We're in a big drought area and have a lot of undeveloped land around us, so wildfires have become pretty common. I figured we needed to make sure we weren't underinsured...it's a big project, but I feel better that I at least started on it now. Also learned we don't own as much crap as I thought we did.

Mike - post pics when you're done, I love renovations!!!! :)

Stacy....will do...we basically ripped the wall between the dining room and kitchen to make one large room. Here is a link to the cabinets we're getting

http://www.homecrestcab.com/products...oomshotcode=90

She picked out a ginger colored maple with ebony glaze which is in the crevices and sets off the cabinets nicely.

We picked a granite for the tops, its called black galaxy, its black with copper/gold/silver flecks in it. We're getting the tops at www.apexsurfaces.com I couldnt find a shot of the black galaxy but here is a link to what it looks like.

http://stone-network.com/india/grani...ck_galaxy.html The pic doesnt really do it justice, its very three dimension with the flecking in it.

The kitchen area will be a porcelain tile in a very subdued tan color and the eating portion of the room will be natural oak hardwood flooring.

She was thinking a light yellow on the walls i think....

We've spent the last few hours watching Dexter. Never liked it the first time we tried but we bought season 1 on DVD and we're hooked. Trying to finish up and watch some of season 2 OnDemand before they disappear on the 2nd of March. Did some cleaning, worked a bunch, will go to Starbucks in a while, ribs for dinner and later....having a few drinks and the hot tub. :)

Mike - very, very nice choices. We're hoping to get some granite in the kitchen as well in the next year or so. We have 12x12 tile right now and it's a total PITA to keep clean or cook on.

Karsun - we just got hooked on Dexter as well! As soon as they started showing it on regular TV on Sunday nights. Very good show.

You can get season 1 for $19. Or at least we did last week. It's highly addictive. :)

I thought about watching that last night, but skipped it for some other junk. What's the show about?

Watched Eli Stone? I like it.

Re: Sunday March 2

Ken - it's about a guy who works forensics for Miami PD Homicide. Thing is, he's a serial killer. Likes to take out the guys the cops miss or people he just feels "deserve it." The style it's done in is very low-key and very different - hard to pinpoint whether the show is a drama or what. It's worth watching at least one episode for.
