Re: Virginians and Guns
Though I am as pro second amendment as they come, I am 150% on board with CCW, and not in any way opposed to staff carrying on campus. I DO NOT think its a good idea for students to have weapons on campus.
I say this entirely because of the living quarters on campus. There's tons of booze and drugs in any dorm complex, not to mention all the BS drama. Having weapons in those dorms with all the partying going on is disaster waiting to happen. Even if they guns were locked away in a biometric safes, some hot head with his CCW will eventually lose his cool and produce his weapon, possibly hurting himself or others. After which the libs in this country will call CCW on campus in to question as a whole. If this passes it will only take one ****tard to ruin it for everyone. You could have the kids check the weapons at the entry of the dorms, but then what good does that do? The kids cannot defend themselves once in the dorms. It would be great if students could have weapons in the dorms to prevent future shootings, but for reasons previously outlined I dont think that it is a good idea. As an idea I think it could save lives. But when trying to put CCW on campus in to practical application I do not think it is possible to do safely. |

I don't know how that could be done, either, Carey.
I don't think emotional drunk kids and weapons would mix well. |
Re: Virginians and Guns
After the wacko killed all those folks on the train car in NY years ago. Qualified armed citizens are a extended arm of security.
