HMMWV Charge Question

OK guys I need a quick answer.....

I am in the Air Force sitting out at a ICBM site right now. We have our SF (cops) here and there HMMWV is dead and needs to be charged and no one knows the correct way....

I only have a 12 volt charger out here. I disconnected one of the batteries and was going to charge them one at a time.... is this the correct way or can I leave the batteries connected and charge both @ the same time?

:giggling: Worlds Best Air Force (scary isn’t it?):giggling:

Thanks!

Re: HMMWV Charge Question

Why not boost it and let the alternator charge it. Not sure on charging never worked on a 24v system before. on a 12v system you can charge both at the same time i dont see why it would be any different on a 24v system

do you mean just hook up the 12 volt charger to the 2 batteries?

Just hook up to one of the batteries and it should charge both at the same time
