Throttle Body bypass???

I have seen on a couple of H2 performance supply sites that a coolant line passes through the throttle body. This coolant after running will heat up the throttle body and reduce power. This leaves the window for a bypass (hose and clamps) to re-route the coolant around the throttle body. Has any one heard of this, or tried this, or any info on it would be great.

Thanks
B

I have it done. Not sure that it makes a difference at all, but for the 2 or 3 bucks.....why not? Very easy to do...takes maybe five minutes.

This mod has been around awhile. I did it to my Corvette back in 1996.
The coolant is run thru the throttle body to prevent it from icing up.
In theory, it also heats up the air/fuel charge and make it less dense.
Fine mod if you live in a warm(er) area. I don't think I'd try it in Alaska though.

Did the mod to 99 Silverado in 99 and H2 when new. If I remember correctly the bypass kit comes in with H2 supercharger kit by Magnuson. It goes back to the idea of heated air or fuel bad and cooled is better.

It needs to be put back to stock if climate is a cold one and icing etc. is something you live with at length.
