22 Inch rims and Terra Grapplers anyone?

I'm thinking of getting 22 inch Wolverine rims and Terra Grappler tires - 325/50/22 does anyone else have 22's with these tires? If so how does it ride? Should I do anything to the brakes? Any suggestions? Will it ride better, worse or the same?

Thanks!

I have 22" x 10" rims and Nitto Terra Grappler 325/50/22 tires. The 22's dont ride any rougher than stock but you do feel a few more bumps in the road. As far as the brakes are concerned it will still stop fine but you do have to apply a slight bit more pressure on the pedal.Good luck.

Those are very nice looking wheels and tires.
I would upgrade to a ceramic brake if yours are
due to be replaced soon since they do not give off
the dust like normal ones do.:perfect10s:

Hey Lucky, so are you very happy with your rims/tires or do you wish you would have stayed stock?

Regards

Hey guys that is my old h2! I still got the same rims and tires but theyre now on my 08! The tires are great! A guy on the other h2 forum actually rated them the best all around tire for the h2! They're great tires, I would say they ride just as good stock, theyre not noisy, still gives you that offroad look and performance. I would suggest them to anybody. I've never had a flat with them or a problem once, and its been a few years.

I am happy because my truck gets compliments all day everyday and now it doesn't look like every other H2 out there. I wish it drove exactly like stock but it is not that far off. You will be more than satisfied .

Oh , I almost forgot. I really wanted 37" M/T tires badly but the downsides were ridiculous, braking, excessive wear, rubbing, etc. . . . . From the questions you are asking DO NOT buy 37" tires because you definitely would be dissapointed with the way it drives, brakes, and handles in severe weather. For those who have 37" M/T tires don't beat me up, I think that they look awesome.

I hate to hijack the thread, but I'm about to get 20x10's on my truck and from my readings on different posts, will I get more out of a terra grappler than I would a mud tire?? I don't plan on going offroad, but I do love the look of the mud tire vs all terrain. I was going to also do a 325-60-20 with either or... comments.....

Re: 22 Inch rims and Terra Grapplers anyone?

If you are not going off road frequently then get the all terrain . All Terrain tires ride well on pavement and they are not that bad in the dirt. The most major factor to remember is tire wear. Mud terrain tires wear out really fast and they don't handle the road as well as all terrains.

Yes I definately wouldnt get mud tires for mostly on road use. You'll get worse gas milage, terrible wear, and probably will be louder than loud.

Another question.....

Did either of your H2's have a lift or were they both stock?

Re: 22 Inch rims and Terra Grapplers anyone?

They were both stock, no lift.

Im looking into geting these rims but in a 22x9.5 are the 22x10 flush with the wheel wells? And also how much did this setup cost you because in Canada they want 3380 plus tax which is 13% does this sound right?

These look real similar to the foose spank 8's, which i'm in the process of getting. Nice to see what it'll look like though. :clapping:

LAST QUESTION I PROMISE!

How much do these rims and tires change your speedometer? 5mps slower or faster? Anyone tested?

The diameter of a 325/50 tire is so close to that of a 315/70 (stock size) that the speedometer error will be negligible.

Try this:

http://www.net-comber.com/tirecalc.html

You'll be 1 mph over your speedo (@ 65 mph actual speed, speedo will read 64 mph)

Not sure if you bought them yet, but I run the same setup.

You can see pics here: http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=33009

Tread is now dead on mine. Need to replace the tires.
I never heard rub with this setup (stock). But I can see minor rub marks if I park with the wheels turned. I ran these for 3 years though, so I wouldn't worry.
