wanted air intake system

Experimenting with air systems. Looking for non stock air systems to try out with tests

Tried a different CAI on my 07 H3 Adventure. Actually, I got to test
one of the first AirDoc intakes prior to them going on the market.
So far I really like this thing. What got me interested in this one
(aside from knowing the guy who builds them), is the fact that it
addresses the issue of that rather smallish air inlet from the fender
cavity ??unlike the other ?kits? out there.

All of the components are over- kill. Powder coated steel tube, ultra hi-temp
silicone couplers and SS T-Bar clamps. It uses the factory breather box but has
a new silicone boot that replaces the factory snorkel. Installation was extremely
simple and I especially liked the fact that you supply the HiPo air filter of your
choice. I know Hunner and a few other guys here made their own (including snorkel)
but I?m not nearly as clever as those folks nor am I the greatest parts scrounger.
Having it all in a kit was worth the $140 this thing costs.

A few shots of the install:

Looky what I found during disassembly: (College Station Mud)

Excluding clean up, the whole thing took no more than 30 minutes.

That product looks interesting. Will need to think about how that may help...

Did like your find. Looks like you got into some deep fender muddy waters. Are you the U-Boat commander at times? Ha. Good thing you have the filter after the little fender snorkle...

What I am toying with is something to add to the header I just installed on the output side. My intent is to boost it up a little on the input side.

Thanks for that feedback!

Similar...a little. True Flow makes a good filter, and I do like their H3 Kits.
However, they left some power on the table by using reducing couplers, only a 3" pipe, worm gear clamps, and did not do anything to improve performance by addressing the small diameter stock inlet snorkel through the inner fender to the air filter box on the 06/07 H3.

AirDocintakes are 3.5" in diameter, so are the couplers, we use SS T Bolt clamps (made in the USA) for overkill in the seal department :) , and removed the factory intake snorkel replacing it with a much larger diameter flexible snorkel that seals to the inner fender pulling cool air from outside the underhood heated engine compartment.

There have also been some complaints about vibration noise with the True Flow kit which the AirDoc has eliminated. Similar? Yes, but we feel ours is superior, priced right, and allows you to use whatever filter you want. :perfect10s:
