Hurrican Season starts June 1, how do you think this year will be?
 

The season starts on June 1. Haven't looked into any of the predicitions or anything yet so I don't really have an opinion on how I feel the outcome will be this year...but what about you guys, the rest of us in the hurricane paths, what do you think this year will be like, and are you going to do anything more to prepare than last time we got hit? Wilma took a toll on my city most places didn't have electricty for 2-3 weeks, my friend was on a hospital grid so I stayed at his house, he got electricty 3 days later. All in all, the aftermath sucks but I find hurricanes very interesting phenomenons, and if one comes by that isn't to strong I like to stick em out, if its a 4 or a 5 I'm gone, but a 1, 2 I'll stick home, and a 3 it depends on how strong of a 3 it is, and where exactly its coming from. But anyway time will tell.

We live in FL too and hopefully it's no worse than the last 2 years. Like you, we also love seeing the hurricanes as long as they're not too bad. I hate the "afterward" being without phone and electricity but most important is that no one is hurt. With that said, I do love to be in them if they're small. :)

We were without power for 17 days after Wilma came through Fort Lauderdale - that got tiring after about a week. Wilma is the only hurricane that managed to hit me twice - I have a house in Playa Del Carmen in the Yucatan - Wilma sat directly over Playa for 36 hours as a cat 5 storm - they had the power back up in the whole town after THREE days - in hindsight we should have jumped on a flight from Fort Lauderdale and headed down there - we would have had a much better time of it.

Its always interesting and awesome to watch. Maybe someday we can harness some of that energy!

We were here through Isabelle living in a 3 story home that was rocking throughout the storm. If one came through like that, having a baby now, I'd have to send, or take, the family somewhere. Can't risk them.

I think it will be a beautiful, dry, warm summer for those of us smart enough to live where there are no natural disasters.

ive gone through a 3 before, it was pushing it, it was a low 3 which is why i dont think i could take a high 3, we had a suction at the front door, we were holding the front door on the house for 3 hours, and teh windows were bending in and out, i thought at any moment they were going to break

Yeah but I doubt there's too many places that have zero natural disasters. There's still blizzards, earthquakes, floods and tornados; just to name a few. :)
